Tomorrow morning we will have been in Peru for 2 weeks.
It has been quiet the journey (beyond getting ready to go) from the Sunday we stepped off the airplane.
This week was full of traveling on Lima buses to our Spanish classes giving us less time to do other
  things.
We did look at several apartments to purchase and will look at a couple more today.
We think we’ve settled on an apartment in San Luis, about 5 minutes from where Ricky lives.
The woman is asking $38,000 for it.
It is a three bedroom apartment on the fourth and top floor.
It has not had an occupant since the apartment building was built 4 years ago.
The kitchen is larger than in most the other places we looked at.
The bedrooms are small but the living space is adequate.
We may be starting the process to purchase it next Monday.
We’ve learned that it is difficult to wire money to another country when you aren’t there to do it.
There is a cost of $1200 to wire the entire amount from a company like Western Union.
We’ve decided to try and get out the money at $500 a day from an ATM for now.
We may need to wait until I return in February to send the remainder of the money and just get the down payment for now.

We did meet with several Peruvian pastors this week.
They were each quite impressive in their own ways.
Robert is looking for contacts for the World Race Runners.
One pastor contacted AIM to partner with them in short term mission trips.
He has a vision that churches will return to Peru each year if they combine tourism with the ministry.
Can’t say the idea appealed to us, but we did see some wisdom in taking time to talk a little about Peru’s history and helping them to understand and be drawn to the people.
