My name is Becky Cooley and I have been called by the Lord to leave my home and go with my husband to Peru to serve him.  He called my husband in 2002, but being a home body, it took until 2005 when I went on my second mission trip to Peru to feel the call was for me as well.  I was drawn to the Peruvian people in 2004 when I assisted a youth mission trip from our church to the highlands of Peru.  The next summer my husband planned an adult trip to Trujillo, Peru, from our church.  It was while we were planting a church in one of the surrounding towns that I felt God’s call to the women in Peru.  I don’t know yet how that will be fulfilled, but I am here in Peru and saying “yes” to the Lord in whatever his will is.  We sold our home and car and my husband sold his business then we arrived in Lima, Peru, on November 19, 2006.  Our Peruvian contact and friend, Ricky Mavila, gave us a place to stay, got us enrolled in Spanish language school and has been graciously helping us in many ways.  Our youngest daughter, Kelsey is staying with us as well.  We left behind our oldest daughter, Jennifer and her husband Daryl, and our second daughter, Julia and her new husband Joe.  Our first grandchild is expected next February.  We are servants of the Lord, cracked pots for sure, looking to the Lord for what he wants of us.  Other than finding a place to stay and learning to communicate in Spanish, our first large work will be getting ready for AIM’s World Racers who will be coming in March.
